China Mobile to use TD-LTE for mobile broadband
Chinese mobile service provider China Mobile has revealed that they are now working on launching mobile broadband services using TD-LTE (Time Division Duplex Long Term Evolution) technology.
However, the company is facing issues due to lack of chipsets based on this technology.
A company representative however said: “We hope to start testing very soon.”
LTE technology is one of the major rivals to WiMax technology which is backed by industry giants including Intel.
China Mobile is working with Vodafone Group and Verizon Wireless to test a combination of TD-LTE and the LTE-FDD technologies.
