Time magazine laying off Canada-based reporting staff

As per incoming reports, the Canadian edition of Time magazine has decided to lay off its only full-time Canada-based reporting staff. In addition, they would also be drastically reducing the number of freelance writers contributing to this edition of the magazine.

The company has informed writers Steven Frank and Leigh Anne Williams that their service would no longer be required after the end of this month. These layoffs are part of Time’s plans to cut costs. They recently announced their plans to cut 250 U.S. jobs this spring.

However, they would still be releasing the Canadian Edition of their magazine and would still carry advertisement from this region. Time Canada’s publishing director Joan Brehl added that the issue would continue to have a Toronto-based editor who will oversee coverage of events like the Toronto International Film Festival, the annual Canadian Newsmaker of the Year story and the annual Canadian Heroes issue, among other features.

    Last issue received December 29, 2008/January 5, 2009
Paid for 180 issues on July 24, 2006 (on top of those remaining in that last subscription)
    What is my recourse?
    Thanks for your help.

I called cust service in nov , was informed we’ll get usa edition of time magazine & it’ll take 2 months to come into effect. I wish Time magazine was decent enough to send us in writing about their plans , instead of leaving us uninformed. Very poor example of good customer service
