Mercedes A-Class might be coming to India
Mercedes-Benz has revealed that they are currently studying the possibility of introducing their A-Class in the Indian market.
Mercedes A-Class is the smallest car in the company’s portfolio though it would probably cost more than some of the luxury cars currently on sale in India.
Mercedes Benz COO Rainer Schmuckle said in a statement on their plans: “We are evaluating the Indian market regarding price positioning and overall perception of the company as far as the A-Class range is concerned. However, we have not taken any decision so far whether and when to introduce the A-Class car in India.”
He added: “Although, during recent months the growth has slowed down a bit, we are hopeful that the drive will resume within the next 12-18 months.”
Mercedes is also planning to bring to India some of their hybrid models in the future. The company aims to launch a new S-Class hybrid car in the global market in 2009.
