Journal Community: Wall Street Journal aims to become more social
Wall Street Journal is one of the most trusted news media company in the world.
They are also one of the few popular online news services which still charge for access to some of their news stories.
WSJ has announced that they are now going social by launching their new Journal Community initiative.
The service would now provide different homepages to paying and non paying web users.
This would enable the user to see the stories which are actually accessible to him.
Paying customers would get access to new features like creating their own personal profile pages with their real names, job details, interests and photos.
They would be able to comment on news stories, discuss in groups and ask for advice.
WSJ representative Alan Murray spoke about this new initiative: “There’s no technology here that you can’t get at other places. What we have that you can’t get anywhere else is the Journal community, the Journal subscriber base.”
