Warren Buffett could acquire some AIG units
Billionaire investor Warren Buffett has said in a statement that he is considering acquiring some of the units of AIG.
Warren Buffett is the owner of the Berkshire Hathaway Inc insurance and investment company.
AIG is in the process of being bailed out of bankruptcy by the US government.
Buffett said in a statement: “Some of those units, most of those units, I believe, will be for sale over the next year or two, and we would be interested in a couple of them.”
AIG CEO Edward Liddy has already said that they are planning to sell assets within two years to help pay off the loan taken by the government.
