Cisco takes on Google and Microsoft with WebEx Connect
Cisco Systems has announced the launch of their online tools which are designed to enable customers to create virtual workrooms for online collaboration.
The company has unveiled their WebEx Connect suite which comes with features like instant messaging and web conferencing linked with business software, blogs and Wikis.
Cisco said in a statement that they ventured into this segment of the market as it is worth around $34 billion.
Google and Microsoft are already major players in this market.
Cisco has acquired several companies in the past which helped them in this initiative. These include WebEx Communications, PostPath and Jabber.
