Ford Model T is 100 years old

Model T was a revolutionary product. It changed the automobile industry for ever. It made cars affordable for the common man.

It also hinted to how the cars are going to be manufactured in the future. Ford’s Model T is now 100 years old.

Ford points out these facts about the Model T:

1. It was the first low priced automobile that was mass produced using standard, interchangeable parts.
2. It was powered with a 20-horsepower, four-cylinder engine.
3. The top speed was just around 45 miles per hour.
4. It weighed 1200 pounds and gave an average of 13-21 miles per gallon.
5. More than 15 million Model T units were sold worldwide.
6. It was called the Universal car by the maker Henry Ford.
7. It was declared the Car of the Century in 1999 by a panel of 133 automotive journalists and experts.
