GM to setup a new engine plant in Flint Michigan
US based automaker General Motors has announced that they are going to setup a new engine manufacturing plant in Flint, Michigan.
The company said that this new plant would manufacture four cylinder engines. It would also be building powerplants for their upcoming model Chevrolet Volt.
In addition, it would also supply components to their under development high-mileage compact car.
GM CEO Rick Wagoner added in his statement: “It’s essential that GM respond proactively and aggressively to America’s demand for new, more fuel-efficient vehicles, including those with four-cylinder engines.”
GM aims to begin production at this new plant in 2010.
