LeftHand Networks being acquired by HP

US based tech giant HP has announced that they are acquiring LeftHand Networks.

LeftHand Networks specializes in providing storage virtualization and iSCSI storage area network solutions.

The deal is worth around $360 million.

HP said that this acquisition would enhance their offerings in its iSCSI suite.

LeftHand Networks has around 215 employees and handles more than 11,000 installations across 3,000 different customers.

HP expects the deal to be complete by their first fiscal quarter of 2009. They would integrate their operations in HP StorageWorks division within the Technology Solutions Group.
