Jet Airways to acquire 30 more aircraft
India’s largest private airline company Jet Airways has reportedly said that they plan to acquire as many as 30 new plans to complement their existing fleet of airplanes.
These purchases would be carried out in the next couple of years and would help the company expand further and stay competitive in the market, which is now full of budget airline operators.
For now, Jet Airways would continue with their sale and lease back policy to strike a balance between owned and leased planes in its 53-strong fleet.
Jet Airways is also currently in the process of acquiring Air Sahara. They informed the Bombay Stock Exchange in a filed report that they have concluded sale and lease back transaction for five aircraft in 2005-06.
The report further said that the company planned the “purchase of 30 aircraft over the next few years”.
