Apple Computer reports improved profits
Apple Computer came out with their revenue results yesterday and impressed the market by announcing a 41 percent growth in their profits. These figures are better than what the market expected from them.
Apple continues to benefit from the sales of its iPod range of digital music and video players. In addition, the introduction of Intel powered Mac computers has helped the company too. The shipments of the Macs improved by around 4%.
The company reported that it earned $410 million, or 47 cents per share, in the first three months of this year. This is up from earnings of $290 million, or 34 cents a share last year in the same period.
The revenues were up from $3.24 billion in the year-ago quarter to $4.36 billion this year for the first three months of the year. Market analysts are now hoping that the company would work hard on expanding their market share in the personal computer market. Apple recently launched a product named Boot Camp in beta which enables Intel powered Mac owners to run Windows XP.
This flexibility should help the company attract those PC owners who always wanted a Mac but had applications to run which are only available for the Windows platform.
