Intel Capital invests in Trony Solar Holdings
Intel Capital has announced that they are investing heavily in Trony Solar Holdings.
The investments are worth around USD 20 million.
Trony Solar Holdings is one of the China’s biggest makers of solar energy and wind power equipment.
Cadol Cheung, managing director of Intel Capital spoke about this new development: “The world economy is in a very difficult position, but innovation is the way to help the companies out of financial crisis. Intel Capital is still committed to investing in innovative companies”.
He added: “We have no plans to slow down our investment pace.”
This is Intel’s first such investment in clean technologies in China.
Stephen Eichenlaub, Intel Capital’s managing director added: “Investing in ‘clean-tech’ is relatively new for Intel Capital. Clean technology area will take on a large strategic significance for Intel’s future.”
