Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines merger complete
Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines have announced that they have now completed their merger.
The merged entity is literally the world’s largest carrier.
The merger required the approval from the U.S. Justice Department. The two companies also needed to settle a lawsuit filed by customers.
Delta Chief Executive Officer Richard Anderson is going to be the leader of the new company.
The merged entity would retain Delta brand name. It would operate out of Atlanta. This newly formed company would have $35 billion in annual sales and 75,000 employees.
