Intel Capital to invest in VMAX Telecom

US based microprocessor industry giant Intel has announced that they are investing in Taiwanese carrier VMAX Telecom.

Intel would be helping VMAX establish a 4G network in the Taiwanese market.

This would thus become the first mobile WiMAX network in the country. The two companies aim to make available this network as early as next year.

Intel is a heavy investor in the Wimax technology and they have been investing in relevant industries to promote it around the world.

Intel would be investing in the company through their Intel Capital division.

The company added in a statement: “Intel Capital’s intended investment and Intel’s accompanying business engagement will enable VMAX to deploy Taiwan’s first mobile WiMAX network, intended to be commercially available within the first half of next year.”
