Motorola confirm that they are cutting jobs in India
US based tech giant Motorola has confirmed that their recently announced job cuts include their Indian operations.
The company said in a statement: “The decision (to lay off) is an in-principle worldwide one, to be implemented while evaluating a variety of factors for each market. At this time, there are no specifics.”
An inside source added: “The company is trying to redeploy internally as many people as possible, but some will have to be laid off.”
Motorola is now concentrating on the Google Android platform for some of their newer phones so the development team is being re-organized.
Motorola had last month announced that they were going to cut 3,000 jobs.
The company is struggling in their domestic market. Mobile phone market has become too competitive.
