Toyota to bring their own small car model for India
Toyota has said that their upcoming small car model for the Indian market is their own product.
The company said that this model would not be sourced from their subsidiary Daihatsu Motor.
Market sources had hinted that the company might take the help from Daihatsu to develop the small car for the Indian market.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Managing Director Hiroshi Nakagawa clarified in a statement: “No. This (the small car) is very much Toyota’s.”
No further details were given.
Toyota India aims to launch this small car in the next 2-3 years. The company needs this model to become a bigger player here in India.
