Bill Gates visits Vietnam to promote licensed software

Microsoft is the world’s largest software company and this also makes them the biggest victims of software piracy. This has resulted in a situation where the company has to deal with various government organizations around the world to promote the usage of licensed software.

After meeting with Chinese head of state, Bill Gates is now on a visit to Vietnam. He would be meeting communist Vietnam’s leaders on Saturday to promote licensed Microsoft products in the country.

Market reports claim that the software piracy in this market is as much as 90% and this gives Microsoft a market with huge potential for selling their software products. The co-founder and chairperson of Microsoft would meet Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and President Tran Duc Luong for this purpose.

Gates would also be promoting a project to connect rural centers via the internet, chat with Hanoi university students. In addition, he will meet members of the country’s fledgling IT community during the two-day trip.
