Vodafone Group to acquire majority stake in Vodacom
Mobile service provider Vodafone Group has announced that they are now going to acquire majority stake in South Africa’s largest mobile service provider Vodacom.
They already own 50% stake in this company.
Vodafone is now going to purchase another 15% to enhance their stake in the company.
They would buy this stake from Telkom SA for 22.5 billion rand.
Vodafone Chief Executive Vittorio Colao spoke about this deal: “We look forward to playing a greater role in delivering the broader social benefits of mobile telecommunications in the continent.”
