Armani might enter India through Reliance
Mukesh Ambani has been looking into the retail market since quite sometime and his Reliance might get a head start by collaborating with Giorgio Armani for their Indian venture. Armani is considering entering the Indian market and Reliance is tipped to be their local partner for this venture.
Armani has already announced their plans to setup at least four stores in the Indian cities of Delhi and Mumbai. Market reports claim that they are holding regular meetings with senior Reliance Industry officials. Armani’s commercial director, Francesco Tombolini in fact had a long meeting with a senior Reliance official on Thursday.
Reliance might become the local franchisee for the Armani range to be sold through exclusive boutique-like outlets. And this might just be the beginning of a more elaborate project, which might see many big names entering the Indian retailing market in the coming months.
Reliance is expected to appoint Former Titan COO, Bijou Kurien as the head of their luxury business.
