Sun Microsystems to cut 6000 jobs
Sun Microsystems has announced that they are planning to cut between 5,000 to 6,000 jobs.
The company is struggling in the competitive market with worsening economic conditions.
This job cut would affect 15 to 18 percent of its workforce.
This is part of their restructuring exercise which is aimed to save $700 million to $800 million annually for the company.
Sun is also in the process of restructuring their software businesses. Division head Rich Green is leaving the company.
