Maruti to launch made in India car by 2011
India’s leading automaker Maruti Suzuki has announced that they are planning to launch a car completely build in India by 2011.
Maruti would be using their own internal engineering strength to develop this new car.
The company said that they have been working on strengthening its engineering and design competencies.
They are now planning to double this team by 2010.
A company representative said: “We would like to close March next year with 740 engineers and reach 1000 by 2010.”
IV Rao, managing executive officer (engineering) of Maruti Suzuki added: “Going forward, we would be working on a model that is conceived, developed and designed at Maruti by its own engineering team.”
