Boeing to cut 800 jobs
US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing has announced that they are going to cut 800 jobs.
These jobs would be cut at their operations in Wichita next year.
With this the company would reduce their Integrated Defense Systems work force at this location by around 27%.
The layoffs would begin as early as this week. It would include salaried and hourly workers as well as managers.
Scott Strode, vice president and general manager of Boeing Wichita spoke about the new developments: “A combination of events are limiting our business options and forcing us to reduce our current employee total. We also are taking steps to restructure our business in order to lower our rates and become more affordable for customers. Our goal is to place more work in Wichita, but while we seek new business, it is vital for the future health of Boeing Wichita that we address our current business realities.”
