Citi India might announce job cuts

Wall Street Journal has reported that the Indian division of Citi could soon announce a major job cut initiative.

CitiFinancial India could cut as many as 1000 jobs in their operations in the country.

Citi India representative had this to say on the reports in the media: “We have said before that we’re expecting only minimal impact for India. We continue to hire for the business, especially on campuses where we remain very active.”

A company insider is said to have said that the company might cut some of its domestic workforce due to under performance.
