Apple App Store has seen 300 million downloads already

Apple has announced that users of iPhones and iPod Touch have already downloaded more than 300 million apps from the Apple App Store.

These mobile applications provides extended functionalities on these portable devices.

Some of these applications are paid while others are free.

Apple has also confirmed that the App Store now is home to more than 10,000 applications.

The company had launched this store earlier this year with the launch of the iPhone 3G mobile device.

This is an incredible performance for a device which was launched just last year and is already becoming a major player in the smartphone market.
