Sony Music Entertainment sued by U.S. Government
U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan has filed a lawsuit against music industry giant Sony Music Entertainment.
The lawsuit claims that the company is violating federal rules aimed at protecting the online privacy of children.
It said that the company is enabling minors to register on its music websites without a proper protection mechanism in place.
They can register on these sites without obtaining consent from their parents.
The lawsuit filed in civil courts is asking for monetary damages from the company.
Sony Music is yet to comment on this latest lawsuit filed against them.
