Toyota India working on CNG edition of Innova

Toyota India has said that they are working on a CNG edition of their utility model Innova.

The company however had some bad news as they said they would cut production by 30 percent in December.

The auto market in India is in a slump as few customers are going ahead with new purchases.

Toyota India however stated that their investment plans in the country are still on track.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor managing director Hiroshi Nakagawa said in a statement: “Everywhere else in the world, Toyota has put on hold all investments for expansions, except India”.

The company has however revised its sales target for this year due to the slowdown in the auto market.

Nakagawa had this to say on the slowdown: “We will be producing 30 per cent less in December due to falling sales. We will decide about the future productions for January and February depending on the market condition for this month.”
