Qimonda gets an emergency loan to stay alive
Memory chip manufacturer Qimonda has received an emergency loan worth around 325 million euro.
This would help them survive for the time being.
The company also has the option to tap into federal aid.
This rescue package has been arranged by German State of Saxony and Infineon which is the parent company of Qimonda.
They are being helped by an unnamed bank located in Portugal.
Infineon Chief Executive Peter Bauer spoke about this new development: “This is good news for the employees of our subsidiary Qimonda before the Christmas season.”
