Laptops dominate Japanese personal computer market
Japanese customers are buying more laptops than ever before.
Market statistics reveal that laptops now account for more than 70% of all PCs sold in this market.
Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association stated that in the month of November, 457,000 laptops were shipped in Japan against 185,000 desktop computers.
The sales of laptops is up 3 percent on the year while the sales of desktops are down 25%.
JEITA gets the data from reports published by 13 major PC vendors including Apple, Sony, Sharp, NEC, Lenovo, Fujitsu and Toshiba.
