Skoda India reports improved sales in 2008

Skoda India sold around 16,188 cars in the Indian market last year.

This is an improvement of 28.5 per cent compared to sales in 2007.

Skoda India Board Member Thomas Kuehl spoke about these improved figures: “Though 2008 was a challenging year for the auto industry, Skoda Auto India succeeded in growing by putting the customers demand on the forefront, particularly with the launch of Super Hatch Fabia.”

Fabia has seen sales of 6,634 units since its launch last year.

Kuehl added: “Our current models are drawing a very positive customer response and we have some great new products coming in the New Year that will keep our momentum going.”

Skoda India has 19 variants of their cars on sale in the Indian market.
