Time Warner Cable reaches an agreement with Viacom

Time Warner Cable and Viacom have announced that they have reached an agreement to enable Time Warner to continue beam MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central channels on their network.

The two media companies did not provide the terms of their deal which is basically an in-principle distribution agreement.

Viacom had earlier asked for a fee hike from Time Warner Cable to continue providing their channels to the company.

Time Warner Cable is the second-largest U.S. cable operator. This division of Time Warner is expected to be split into a separate business sometime this year.
