General Motors India set to hike prices on their models

General Motors cars are set to become more expensive as the company would hike the prices from January 9.

GM said that the rising costs of raw material for their cars is causing this latest price hike.

The company however sees no improvement in sales in the first few months of the year as the Indian automotive market is in a recession.

GM India also said that they missed on achieving their target of 75,000 units sales in the year 2008.

The company sold 65,702 cars in India last year which is an improvement of 9.5 per cent from 2007.

They have not revealed any sales target for this year as the market is going through tough times.
