Reliance Capital replaces Satyam on Nifty
National Stock Exchange has announced that they are now replacing Satyam from its benchmark index Nifty.
Satyam would be replaced by financial company Reliance Capital.
This would be applicable from January 12.
NSE added in its statement that Satyam would also be removed from their other indices like CNX 100, S&P CNX 500,CNX IT and the CNX Services sector index.
NSE said: “The index maintenance sub-committee has decided to make the following changes in various indices during its review. These changes shall become effective from January 12, 2009.”
CNX 100 Index would see Glenmark Pharmaceuticals replacing Satyam
S&P CNX 500 Index would see Cairn India replacing Satyam.
CNX IT Index would see Core Projects and Technologies replacing Satyam
CNX Services Sector Index would see Power Grid Corporation of India replacing Satyam
CNX Nifty Junior Index is also going to see Reliance Capital replacing Glenmark Pharmaceuticals

what does it meam when one say’s reliance capital replaces satyam in NSE .. how does it effect the retail shareholder(few hundreds of shares)going forward.
