EMC to cut 6% of its workforce

EMC Corp has announced that they are now going to cut around 6% of their total workforce.

The company would cut 2,400 jobs from their global operations to save money in the coming years.

The news boosted the company’s share price at the stock market.

The company has also now reported a quarterly profit excluding items that was in line with its most-recent forecast.

EMC Chief Executive Joseph Tucci added in his statement about these new developments: “Our goal is to position EMC for continued success throughout the downturn and for even greater success during the next economic growth cycle.”
