Fiat planning a cheap car for India by 2012

Fiat has revealed that they are working on bringing a low cost car to the Indian market in the coming 3-4 years.

The company has just launched their luxury sedan Linea in the Indian market.

Fiat said that this new model would ideally be “at the bottom of the B segment.”.

This segment consists of models like Hyundai Santro, Tata Indica and Maruti Alto.

Fiat India is currently working on launching two new models in the Indian market: Fiat Bravo and Fiat Grande Punto.

Fiat is a partner of Indian automaker Tata Motors which is expected to launch their Tata Nano model this year.
