Jeep Cherokee might land in India!

Fiat has just gained a 35% stake in the US based automaker Chrysler.

This might enable Fiat to bring some iconic models from Chrysler to the Indian market.

One of the models being rumored to be heading towards India is the Jeep Cherokee.

Fiat’s global spokesman Gualberto Ranieri had this to say on the potential plans: “It is too early to elaborate on India and the relationship with the Tatas. The Fiat-Tata relationship is blossoming, so who knows… It can happen, but right now, it is too early to elaborate.”

Chrysler entered this deal with Fiat to gain their small car expertise.

Fiat is already in a deal with Tata Motors in the Indian market. Fiat cars are sold from Tata showrooms here.

Fiat’s global CEO Sergio Marchionne added: “We have said we want to be partners with Tata Motors in whatever fashion possible, and that is, by no means, restricted to a single product or market.”
