VeriSign to acquire Certicom
VeriSign has announced that they are now acquiring Certicom.
This announcement comes just days after Research In Motion took back their bid for the company.
VeriSign would be paying $73 million for this deal.
Certicom is a developer of elliptic curve cryptography technology.
VeriSign said that this acquisition would enable them to expand their products and services and target more customers.
RIM had offered $52 million to acquire Certicom.
Certicom is now advising their investors to accept this offer from VeriSign.
