P Chidambaram gives his approval to Slumdog Millionaire

Amitabh Bachchan might have stated that Slumdog Millionaire movie is a bad portrayal of slums in India, but the movie has been appreciated by the Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram.

Chidambaram was till sometime back the Finance Minister of the country.

Chidambaram said in a statement that the movie is an inspiration for the financial institutes to fund the dreams of enterprising entrepreneurs from the slums.

It is not clear whether he has seen the movie.

The main character in the movies goes on to win the top prize on the game show Slumdog Millionaire.
