Tata still has plans to bring Jaguar Land Rover in India
Tata might have posted major loss in their automotive division. The company still hopes to bring their recently acquired Jaguar Land Rover brands in the Indian market.
The company is also struggling with these luxury brands which they acquired from the US automaker Ford.
The sales of these cars are down to 49,000 units in the final three months of 2008, from 76,000 a year earlier.
Market sources say that the company is building a distribution network across India’s main cities to launch these high end cars in the Indian market.
India’s luxury auto segment is dominated by Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Audi and Volvo are also present.
