Motorola posts a massive fourth-quarter loss
US based mobile phone manufacturer Motorola has posted a massive fourth-quarter loss.
The company has now suspended their its dividend.
Motorola has also announced the departure of their CFO Paul Liska. No reasons for given for his leaving the company.
Liska had joined Motorola last year in February.
The company posted a loss of $3.6 billion, or $1.57 per share, in the fourth quarter.
This included the charge of $1.56 per share for goodwill impairment and an increase in a deferred tax reserves.
Motorola had earned USD 100 million in the same period in the previous year.
The company said that its fourth quarter sales were $7.14 billion. This was also down from $9.65 billion in the year-ago period.
