Sharp heading for a major loss too
Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer Sharp has announced that they are going to cut 1,500 contract workers in Japan by the end of March.
The company also said that they are heading towards a major loss in the current financial year.
This would be a first for the company in around 60 years.
They are not alone. The global economy is in a crisis and customers are not buying as much as they used to.
Sharp said that they are looking at a net loss of 100 billion yen in the current financial year that ends in March.
The company added that the job cuts are not going to affect the company’s full-time global work force.
