Ford USA to launch electric Transit Connect light work van
US based automaker Ford has announced that they would be launching an electric Transit Connect light work van next year.
They are working in collaboration with Smith Electric Vehicles on this model for the US market.
Ford has already announced that they are going to launch an electric small car in the domestic market in 2011.
The company also has aims to make available plug-in hybrid vehicles in the US market by 2012.
Ford said that the Transit Connect vehicle would have a range of 100 miles.
A company representative said that this model represents the next logical step in their pursuit of even greater fuel economy and sustainability.
