Nissan to cut 20,000 jobs globally

Nissan Motor Company has announced that they are now going to cut around 20,000 jobs from their global operations.

The company has revealed a net loss of around US$2.8 billion and this has prompted them to take these serious actions.

Nissan added that they are now suspending its 2008-2012 midterm business plan.

They are however remaining committed to manufacturing zero emission vehicles.

Nissan has around 235,000 employees worldwide and this number would now drop down to around 215,000.

Nissan is also considering revising its product portfolio to cut costs on future launches.
