Barack Obama first news conference had a viewer ship of 49 million
Nielsen Media Research has claimed in a report that President Barack Obama’s first White House news conference was watched by as many as 49.5 million people.
It was shown on all the major news networks in the country including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel and Univision.
However, this still failed to match the audience of 64.3 million Americans who watched President Bill Clinton’s 1993 post-inauguration news conference on the economy.
It is very likely that a lot of people were hooked on to the same event online. These numbers does not include the online viewers.
Super Bowl remains the most watched television event of this year till now. It had an audience of 95.4 million viewers.
