Nokia too cutting jobs
World’s leading mobile phone maker Nokia has announced that they are cutting production at their Salo plant in Finland.
The company is also closing a research site in Jyvaskyla, Finland.
Nokia said that the demand for mobile phones in the market is slowing and they have to cut the production to avoid excessive stock.
A company representative added: “With these plans, we aim to scale down Salo production to reflect reduced market demand, while operations in the factory continue uninterrupted”.
Nokia added that they are taking additional measures to cut costs during these tough economic times. They are aiming to cut annual costs by 700 million Euros this year.
