Tom Mars is the new chief administrative officer of Wal-Mart USA

Wal-Mart Stores has announced the appointment of Tom Mars as their new executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Wal-Mart USA.

He would now handle the company’s human resources operations for the division.

Mars was till now the general counsel of Wal-Mart Stores. That position has been taken up by Jeff Gearhart.

Jeff Gearhart also now becomes an executive vice president at the company.

Wal-Mart is undergoing a minor restructuring which would see them cutting around 700 to 800 jobs at its northwestern Arkansas headquarters.

The company is also going to set up less stores this year as the global economy is struggling.
