Honda India to keep production low

Honda India has said that they are planning to keep the production level low in the coming months.

Honda wants to avoid inventory build up as the auto sector in India is going through a tough time.

The company however confirmed that the upcoming launch of Jazz Premium Hatchback is on track and it would be launched on time.

Honda is also considering increasing the prices of their existing models due to increase in the cost of the raw materials.

Honda Siel Cars India President and CEO Masahiro Takedagawa had this to say on the new developments: “We have already adjusted our productions. Today our inventory level for India is quite appropriate — two weeks for our own hand and two weeks on dealers’ side.”

The company had recently announced that they are no longer going to offer Civic Hybrid from their showrooms. It would be offered on placing an order. The delivery would take as many as 3 months.
