Takanobu Ito to become new Honda CEO
Honda Motor has announced that they are now naming Takanobu Ito as their upcoming new CEO of the company.
He would take over from Takeo Fukui at the top of the company.
Takeo Fukui would remain on the company board and would act as an advisor to Honda Motor.
Sources say that Fukui is being replaced as he is already closer to retirement and it has nothing to do with his performance.
Incidentally, Honda has done better in these tough economic times compared to its peers. The company is the only major Japanese automaker forecasting a profit for the current fiscal year to March.
Ito had joined Honda way back in 1978 and he is currently looking after the company’s automobile operations.

Well I hope Mr. Ito is prepared to see some problems in his seemingly perfect company. I own 2 Honda's,
both of the 2008 Models. The Accord EX V6 has worn through a set of rear brake pads in only 19,000 miles.
An unheard of problem for any other manufacturer. I have owned 38 different cars in my life and never
had to replace rear brake pads till around 90,000 miles. This is a Honda Accord exclusive problem and
the company refuses to recognize it. I hope Mr. Ito realizes that No longer will I own what was supposedly
one of the most reliable cars on the road. If there is a problem fix it and I am okay with it. 3 years or
36,000 mile warranty means nothing to them apparently.
