Oscar Award had a viewership of 36 million+ in USA
Market sources say that the Oscar Awards were seen by more than 36 million viewers in the USA.
This was much better than the figures from last year.
This year’s show was hosted by popular actor Hugh Jackman.
The awards were dominated by the movie Slumdog Millionaire which won eight Oscars including the award for the best movie.
Nielsen Media Research said in its report that the telecast drew 36.3 million U.S. viewers. This figure is up 13 percent from last year’s ceremony.
