Peter Chernin to step down as President of News Corp.
News Corp. has announced that their current President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Chernin is leaving the company.
He is currently the second most powerful man in the company after Rupert Murdoch. He has been with the company since the last 12 years.
Chernin said in a statement that he is confident that the current management at the company is fully capable of running the company under the leadership of Murdoch.
News Corp. said that the Chernin would have a film and television production deal with the company’s Fox unit. He would now start a Fox-based production company in addition to other possible ventures.
