Deutsche Telekom to merge fixed and mobile divisions
European telecom giant Deutsche Telekom is said to be close to announce that they are merging their shrinking fixed-line unit with its mobile operations.
They are following Swisscom which has also done the same with their units.
Financial Times Deutschland said that the company is taking this step to avoid cutting jobs in their global operations.
They are going to reorganize its operations according to geographic zones while avoiding job cuts.
Deutsche Telekom is however expected to keep the T-Mobile division separate.
